My most beautiful sunsets from around the world (Day 3- grateful for SUNSHINE)
This article is part of my December 2020 Gratitude series that help me end this year on a more positive and inspiring note. Disclaimer: The following words are going to be just as kitschy as the pictures. And I love it.
I have been fortunate to see sunsets in many places around the world. At tops of the mountains, down from the city street, touching the water or my favourite - from the car. There is just something so soothing about driving and chasing the sun. Sometimes I even stop the car to take the picture, because the dirt on my window-shields just does not want me to succeed. Even if the conditions are flawless, It is so hard to find the right moment to press that shutter button. A photo will never do enough justice to those colours. All the shades of pink, purple, orange, yellow - meeting the blue. And I swear I often see green on that threshold. Not many people believe me… but there will be a day when I will find a way how to capture that! Without a doubt, sunset is my favourite colour.
It gave me so much joy, going through my albums and remembering those places. Many of the following captures were taken in Venice, during my fellowship stay. Every time, we were leaving from Architectural Biennale, we waited for the sunset. 30 days in a row and every single time it made me unbelievably happy and calm. Never got boring. Never looked the same. I think that is when I fully fell in love with all the colours and shapes that the sun can draw. There is just something about them that brings me into the present and leaves me in joy and silence. Watching the last rays of warmth taking us to even better - dusk. Bringing the bluuuues.
Pure gratitude.
As Beau Taplin said:
"Sunsets are proof that endings can be beautiful too."
Let’s make the ending of this year a little better and let me know what are you thankful for today.
